A heady and hard-working offensive lineman from Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, Maryland, Raley was a mainstay during one of the most successful stretches in program history, paving the way for 1,000 yard rushers and starting 37 consecutive games at center and guard for the Cavaliers. An All-ACC performer, Raley helped guide the Hoos to the postseason and was a starter in four consecutive bowl games
Following his playing career, Raley shifted his focus to education, where he’s been a coach, teacher, principal, and administrator for over 25 years. Upon leaving the classroom, Raley guided both Shenandoah and Goochland County Public Schools as superintendent for nearly a decade.
Last spring, Raley was appointed Chief of Staff at the Virginia Department of Education where his influence will continue to be felt by thousands of students, faculty, and families across the Commonwealth.
